BRIEF

Cover design for The Maze Runner by James Dashner. My goal was to create a visually striking reinterpretation that captures the novel's themes of tension, survival, and psychological entrapment.

WHAT I DID

I built the visual system around a monochromatic base balanced with sharp red accents, using contrast as my primary tool for conveying danger. I integrated the maze motif into both the composition and the typography to make the design inseparable from the story's premise, carrying the same logic from the front cover to the back and across the spine

RESULT

The monochromatic palette with its red intervention builds an immediate sense of threat, while the typographic choices reinforce the maze as both a literal and metaphorical element. My intention was to let restrained color and strong compositional logic carry an entire narrative identity.
